| About Me: | After graduation, I married our classmate, Sue Wofford and we have a beautiful daughter and two grandchildren together. Although we're no longer married, we're still great friends. We both worked at Texas Instruments while I was finishing college. It was a very long drive from our house in Fort Worth, so I scrapped up $750 and bought a 1941 airplane to fly to work. With a top speed of 65 miles an hour, the cars would sometimes pass me, but it was quality time. I left my job as a VP of Finance with Dr Pepper/Seven Up to become a land developer. Great fun - I learned how to operate all the dozers, loaders and other machinery. After that I became an investor inolved in banking (Premier National Bank on Mockingbird), oil, and real estate. I was totally money focused until a near fatal car accident in 1990. It was the best thing that ever happened to me as it showed me what's important in life. I now take time to watch beautiful sunsets and pay more attention to my personal relationships. My wife, Margie, and I live in Plano. Within the last seversl years we have spent a year in Jamaica, a year in Panama and several years in Mexico. We live in an airport community where I can park my plane (now a Lancair) in my garage and drive our golf cart to a Home Depot store or to Willowbend shopping center. I have a low stress occupation now as an independent consultant installing Oracle ERP solutions and will probably keep doing that for another few years. Life is good. |
